Vehicle Crime

Good afternoon, 

We are reaching out to residents of Hargreaves Road, Oswaldtwistle to make you aware of recent reports of vehicle-related crime in the area, including attempted thefts and suspicious activity around parked vehicles.

 

We understand how concerning this can be for residents, and we want to reassure you that local officers are aware and patrolling the area. Your vigilance and support are vital in helping us prevent further incidents.

 

Crime Prevention Advice:

  • Always lock your vehicle – even when parked on your drive or outside your home.
  • Remove valuables from your vehicle, including bags, tools and electronics. Thieves often act on opportunity.
  • Keep keys secure – avoid leaving them near doors or windows where they can be easily reached.
  • Use additional security such as steering wheel locks or wheel clamps – visual deterrents matter.
  • If possible, park in a well-lit area or consider installing a motion-activated light or CCTV.
  • Report any suspicious behaviour straight away via 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress.
